■Practical Lectures Applicable at Every Clinic

Through explicitly descriptive lectures, you can acquire necessary knowledge and practical skills to relieve pain.

Our lectures will cover questions like:

How does a physical symptom such as pain relate to our mind, daily diet and social culture?

How can we relieve pain created from the relations stated above?

How do the relations change by releasing pain?

There are 5 basic sections covered in the lecture.

Section 1: Physical Body and Pain

Our brain is constantly monitoring the condition of the physical body and sometimes creates pain or discomfort due to certain sensory inputs. By giving off pain, our brain and spine are helping to protect our body from possible danger.

Section 2: Mind and Pain

Mental stress can actually create tension in muscle tissue. Mental factors such as fear, anxiety, anger, jealousy and self-denial can cause great stress to the body. If the stress stays for a period of time, that can result in creating great pain.

Section 3: The Science of Pain

It is said that 1/3 of Japanese population suffer from stiff shoulders. Many of us living in the modern society suffer from some sort of pain or discomfort. Why do we feel “a warning signal” (pain) where we are supposed to be living in an advanced and secured modern society with good infrastructure. We will solve that mystery.

Section 4: Fundamental Technique

Learn the fundamental technique used in clinics of Japan, Germany and Thailand. By acquiring the fundamental and practical technique, you can reproduce a certain therapeutic efficacy with no need of any special experience and/or diagnostic skill.

Section 5: Application

Learn the depth of pain relief technique, pursue immediate effectivity and improve skills to reach higher ground as a therapist. We will discuss about the cause and solutions to sports injuries and other physical and mental conditions that did not resolve by receiving various other treatments.

■ Curriculum

(Excerpt from Basic Course materials)

Title Contents

Muscle Tissue and Pain

(Defensive Reflex and Pain)

Our brain and spine use neural transmission circuits to monitor the condition of the body and create pain, discomfort, titillation or pleasant sensations accordingly. Muscle movements and activities provide strong stimuli to neural circuits, therefore, sensation varies depending on the condition of muscle tissue.

In this course, we will look into the relation between muscle tissue and sensation:

-       What kind of sensation is created when muscle tissue contracts?

What causes muscle strain and how to resolve it?

Learning and Pain

It is so obvious that the mankind holds a high potential to adapt to the environment by looking at how we almost dominate the entire planet. Our great capacity of adaptation is supported by our high physical operation abilities. There is no other species who could adapt to variety of movements like we do. As you can see from how initially immobile new born babies learn how to turn over, we gradually acquire the skills to use our muscles. It is only possible because we are highly adaptable to our environment.

We will look into what determines the usage of muscles, and how to release and prevent acquired muscle tension.

Self-care and Pain

If pain is created due to monitoring the physical condition, changing the condition of muscle tissue can alter sensation, especially pain. To reduce and prevent acquiring muscle tension in daily life, it is important to loosen muscles not simply by contracting or stretching out muscles but by understanding our relation to gravity.

In this section, you will learn the nature of movement, skills to reduce and prevent acquiring muscle tension and self-care, self-management technique.

Mind and Pain (1)

We know unconsciously and from our life experiences that our mind and body are one. The state of our mind reflects upon the condition of our physical body and visa versa. For instance, it is extremely difficult to lightly use the body under great stress or having a trauma. Also it is difficult to keep positive mentality while the body is exhausted.

We will go deeper into discussing how muscle tissue response to the state of mind, how the change in muscle tissue affects mind, and the influence of our daily life over the body and mind.

Mind and Pain (2)

If to consider the stress of mind and body is merely the same, it is possible to release the mental stress or trauma by changing the state of the physical body. It is also possible to relieve physical stress and pain by releasing mental stress.

In this course, we will reinforce your understanding of the interrelation of body and mind, enhance communication skills of body and mind, and improve the skill to catch factors causing body and mind issues.

Society and Pain

Mankind has successfully continued its race by forming communities. Therefore, we follow two principle rules; life protection rule to make sure we survive as a living being, and society rule to protect community life. These two fundamentally different rules give a great impact over our body and mind.

In this section, we examine the relation between society and our body and mind and how we make sense of our individual sensibility and as social beings.

Examination     Paper test, interview, submission of research paper and impressions report on the lecture.
